Imagine you suddenly discover crystals in your system of AdBlue®… right at the worst possible moment.
The result? Breakdowns, costly repairs, and a fair share of frustration.
To avoid this, it helps to understand what the AdBlue® system is and how it works — and that’s exactly what we’ll cover next.
What is the system of AdBlue® used for?
Before talking about failures, let’s discuss the basics: what exactly is AdBlue® and what is it really used for?
In modern diesel engines, AdBlue® is a fluid used in a system called SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction).
In practice, the AdBlue® system and the SCR system refer to the same thing: AdBlue® is injected into the exhaust gases through the SCR system to reduce polluting emissions.
This fluid, made mainly of demineralised water and urea, transforms nitrogen oxides (NOx)—which are particularly harmful to both health and the environment—into harmless nitrogen and water vapor. Thanks to this process, vehicles remain compliant with current emission standards while limiting their impact on air quality.
But like any system, the SCR/AdBlue® system is not faultless. Over time, it can become clogged or crystallise. When this happens, emissions rise and engine performance decreases.
In some cases, the vehicle may even switch to limp mode to protect itself. That’s why regular and proper maintenance is essential
Our solution
Our solution – Ad Protect – acts like a shield for your SCR system by preventing crystal formation—ensuring a smooth and worry-free driving experience.
The key benefits of our solution:
- Protection against crystallisation: Prevents deposits that could block or damage system components.
- Optimal SCR performance : Keeps your vehicle running smoothly and efficiently.
- Lower maintenance costs: Avoids expensive repairs caused by the system of AdBlue® cristalisation damage.
- Enhanced reliability: Eliminates the risk of unexpected breakdowns and service interruptions.
Using AdBlue® is straightforward, as long as a few essential rules are followed.
First, always add the product to the AdBlue® tank—never to the fuel tank—otherwise, you risk damaging the engine.
To keep the SCR system running optimally, it is recommended to add one bottle of Ad-Protect with each AdBlue® refill to the dedicated tank.
As a guideline, a 125ml bottle of Ad-Protect treats up to 15 litres of AdBlue®, making dosing simple and ensuring effective protection of the system.
In short, our solution protects your system of AdBlue® while boosting your vehicle’s performance and reducing maintenance costs—so you can hit the road with total peace of mind.
